[/color] finished. After a long and difficult day at work, all Lolita Cassidy wanted to do was forget about everything that she had taken part of earlier in the day. Being a police officer wasn't always what it was cracked up to be, things didn't happen in real life like they did on the television shows. A person had to find a way to cope with it, and for the night, Lola's way of doing that was going out to the club and letting the pounding music, lights, people, and alcohol work on her brain until it was no longer thinking properly anymore. Her apartment wasn't too far away from the club, good for her since she did plan on having a few drinks. She wasn't stupid enough to try and drive back home after that, and had a cab service number programmed on her phone in case things got too bad there.
On the way there, memories from the day couldn't help but pop up in her mind. Things had been quiet around the station lately, just standard calls without anything too exciting taking place. That's how the day had started out, then there was a call for backup at a domestic dispute and that's when things had gone badly. Another officer had gotten shot and after things were cleared up at the house, what officers that could be spared were up in the ER. When one of their own got injured, the whole station pulled together, it was something that Lola really liked about her job. Despite the politics that went on any other time, if someone got hurt everyone was there and that stupid sort of thing was left behind. She had sat in the waiting room, waiting to see if her friend would make it through. It was touch and go for a while but the wonderful medical personnel at St. John's Medical Hospital worked their magic and he was out of the woods. What had really gotten to her was watching his wife in the waiting room, and despite everyone's efforts to comfort her, no one could. The person that she loved the most had been hanging by a thread and there was nothing she could do about it. Although it seemed a bit selfish, Lola hadn't been able to help but think about who would be there for her if she got injured. She didn't speak to her family, she didn't really have a whole lot of friends aside from the other officers at the department, and there was no one waiting back home for her. Lola was a tough cookie, she often acted as though she didn't believe in the whole love thing that everyone was searching for, but truth was she missed having someone around that gave a damn about her.
Luckily the club came into her line of sight and as soon as she walked in the music that was blasting helped put such thoughts out of her mind. Aside for a distraction, she didn't know what she expected to happen at Maleficent for the night. Since she didn't really have a game plan in mind, she made her way up to the bar and took a seat. Catching the bartender's attention, she ordered a Jägerbomb and opened a tab for the night. Lola surveyed the club to see if anything interesting was going on, received her drink, and knocked it back. She ordered another and considered going out to the floor to dance.
