Two months in New York seemed like a lifetime, especially when all Del could think about was going back home to Elizabeth's Hollow. And it didn't help that she hadn't drank herself stupid enough to sleep with the chick and then pass out next to her. Nope. She had to drink enough to get the girl to her place, sex her up and then find herself in an eerily quiet bedroom. Alone, but at the same time not. She wanted to hear someone familiar. Someone she hadn't talked to since she'd gotten there. Reaching over the edge of the bed for her pants she pulled out her cell and found Drew's number. Yeah, she was probably making a mistake, but she missed Drew something horrible, even after their less than perfect good bye. So she sat there, on the edge of the bed, wrapping a blanket around herself as she pushed 'Talk' for Drew, and listened to the first of several rings.
ooc: so don't know what i'm doing here XD

She'd been stumbling through town tonight. Drew had left her jeep at home, already messed up enough that she knew she shouldn't drive. She went to the bar, got a girl, fucked her, and left. It was a process that only took about 3 hours. And now she was back on the street, just a few blocks from home, a silly grin on her lips. If a cop passed by, he'd have reason enough to take her to the cop shop. But Drew wasn't worried about that. Frowning, she halted her heavy footsteps, feeling her phone vibrate in her suit jacket pocket. Who'd be calling her at this time of night? Moreover, what the fuck did they want? Silver eyes peered at the screen, flashing 'Delaware' with a phone symbol underneath it. Whattttt... Sliding it open, she put the phone to her ear. "Hello?"

Delaware was drunk enough to call, but not so drunk as to freak out when the phone was actually answered. Her eyes got wide and her jaw dropped slightly. She hadn't actually expected Drew to answer, has she? No, not really she didn't think anymore. Del held the phone close to her ear, wanting to hear that single word one more time. Wanting the feeling that hearing Drew's voice always tended to do to her. She could have said something, should have. Instead she quickly pulled the phone from her ear and snapped it shut. Damnit, she shouldn't have called.

Drew waited patiently for Delaware to answer her, staring up at one of the sickly orange streetlights. She hadn't really thought to repeat her confused, 'Hello', figuring that since she'd answered, it was now Del's turn. Blinking, she pried the phone from her ear, watching as the phone icon went from connected to disconnected as the other girl hung up. "What the fuck..." she muttered softly, pressing her number five speed dial that would connect her with Delaware again. Why had she called? Why had she hung up? And what was Drew doing calling her back? Oh fuck.

Del stared blankly at the phone in her hand as it went dark from her hanging up before a moment later lighting up this time with Drew's name in the little screen. Well, she called back, that was a good sign, wasn't it? Maybe not. Delaware stared down at the little black object in her hand as the music is played began to grow louder. What did she even say? She could shoot herself, and probably wouldn't have answered if it weren't for the fact that the girl lying behind her began to mumble something about noise. So she flipped it open a second before the ring tone would end and it'd be sent to voice mail. "Hi," she said quietly.

Leaning against an old brick building, Drew waited for the other end to answer. Delaware had to, she was the one that called first. She took out a cigarette, starting to light it and starting to give up when the other girl's voice suddenly came through the small earpiece. Hi? That was it? Pausing to light her cigarette, Drew held the phone to her ear with her shoulder. "You called?" She didn't want to seem short, nor did she want to seem desperate. But she had to admit, it was nice hearing Del's voice again, considering the last time they actually spoke ended in a few heated words and a short, 'Bye'.

Oh great. Drew still sounded like she wanted to eat children. She probably would too given the chance. Del bit onto her lip and tried to think of why she called, or at least a good reason that sounded plausible after two months of not talking. "Yeah, I guess I did." Oh jesus. Was that bottle of Jack still in her night stand? At the rate she was going she was going to need to finish it off. "H-how've you been?' Yeah, let's work with the casual.

Drew wasn't mad. Well, she was just peeved. She was peeved at the situation that had taken place between them. She'd let her sex drive take over and that was a big mistake. And now they were both paying the consequences. With a long drag from her cigarette, she waited for Delaware to explain herself. Thank god she was high, otherwise she'd probably be really nervous. "Good, great right now actually," she said, smoke seeping from her mouth as she spoke. "How's... wherever?" Drew asked, not able to remember where Del had ran to.

Great, Drew was high. Del wondered how often Drew was getting high now. She had finally gotten Drew down to a moderate level before she had left, but knowing Drew, without Del there to say otherwise, she did whatever the hell she wanted. Delaware looked into her side table. Damn the Jack was gone. When the question was asked back she looked at the girl behind her and wanted to say 'lonely', but she didn't. Instead she wrapped the blanket around her tighter and left the bedroom for her well stocked fridge... yeah she'd resorted to alcohol a lot. "New York," she reminded Drew. "And it's interesting. Just got back from Tokyo a few days ago."

Getting high was one of her regular routines at the moment. It was almost an every day thing, except on the days where she worked. It was hard to cut hair when you couldn't feel your fingers. Drew was better when Del was around; there were better things to do when you had a friend by your side. But now that she was alone most of the time, she'd spend her day sleeping or maybe working out at the gym, and her nights were spent with a reasonable amount of pot or blow and a girl. Oh well, it was better than her ache of loneliness. "Oh fuck that's right," she said, rubbing her hair. "Why were you in Tokyo?" This sounded more like a call from a parent than it did a call from a friend.

Delaware physically shrugged then remembered she was on the phone and Drew couldn't see her. "I don't know. This job has had very little to do with web design," she stated as she pulled a beer from the fridge and plopped down at the kitchen table still wrapped in the blanket. "I don't even remember the last time I sat down in front of a computer and did some coding. Not that I'm complaining... that's not why I called." Then again, she still didn't know why she'd called. Maybe after two months she just wanted to hear her friends voice.

She took a pull from the cigarette, watching as a few cars passed through an intersection. Late as it was, town was still dead. Most people were passed out at home already, or they'd gone home with someone and were having mind-blowing sex. Either way, Drew liked being by herself right now. Bypassing the bull shit that seemed to be the topic of this conversation, she jumped straight to the point. "So, why did you call?" she asked. It was better to just ask rather than wonder, plus, she didn't need to play little games with Del. Drew was definitely over the mind-fucks between them.

Delaware closed her eyes and cursed at herself. Why did she call? She thought for a moment, taking a drink from her bottle and rested against the back of the chair. She sighed, "I don't know. I didn't expect you to answer. But honestly, I really don't know. Maybe I just needed to hear your voice?" Yeah, now that sounded cheesy, despite that fact that she was beginning to think it was true.

This was probably a tough ordeal for Del and Drew probably wasn't making it any better acting cold. But she didn't know what else to do. Del had left her in a lurch with a lot of questions on her mind. What else could she do now? This was why she didn't let anyone in. This exact kind of situation. "What's so special about my voice?" she asked, not able to think of what else to say to that statement. Maybe she shouldn't have answered her phone, or for that matter, called Delaware back. "Fuck," Drew said inaudibly.

Del wanted to both laugh and cry... and she did sort of anyway. Her eyes watered and she managed a small chuckle. "You haven't changed a damn bit, you know that right?" She said bluntly taking a swig from her beer. Delaware started laughing then, or at least a little more noticeable. "And to think, I have someone asleep in my bed and yet instead of sexing her up I did something stupid like call you." Del wasn't sure why she just informed Drew of that. Maybe she secretly wanted to make her jealous, or was just trying to distract herself on who she really did call.
