It was a cool spring day, a weekday in which Elliot normally spent his time in the comforts of his apartment, where he did his homework if there was any to be done, or found some other way to occupy his attention until it was time for his class that was later in the evening. Today however, Elliot Greene was certainly not to be found in his apartment. The thermostat in it was broken, but instead of it being an icebox, the heat wouldn't shut off. The landlord was unavailable until later in the day, so instead of staying in the sweltering heat that wasn't rivaled even after opening windows to try and cool it off, Elliot had decided to take a walk out in the refreshingly chilled outdoors instead. Even though he was normally dressed for the weather, the fiasco with the heat made the cold weather inviting, and so the coat that was normally wrapped around him was hanging off his arm instead. Eventually he would put it back on, but currently he was more than content to carry it for the time being. The whole ordeal made him feel a bit antsy. Elliot was a person who was more than happy to operate his life on a routine and he felt strange and out of place when he had to break it, even if it was for a good reason. On his shoulder rested his schoolbag, which contained a book, some paper, as well as his laptop. He had a quick assignment that needed to be finished before class later in the evening, so eventually he would have to find a place to sit so he could complete it.
It took a few blocks of walking before goosebumps rose on Elliot's skin. He stopped on the sidewalk, setting his book bag on the ground momentarily as he finally gave in and put his coat on. The bag was returned to his shoulder and he continued on with his walk. It was nice to be out of the sauna that he called home, that was for sure. A few more blocks down, he saw a place that he frequented, it was one of the few places that he made a point to go out for. Fauna's Cafe was a nice little coffee shop that had great food, sometimes if he didn't have homework to do, he spent his time in-between classes at the charming cafe. It was a busy place but it wasn't generally overcrowded, something that Elliot liked. Also, they had free wi-fi, which pretty much made it a done deal in his book as a hang out. It would be the perfect place to go for the time being and actually, he was surprised that he hadn't thought of it before. He opened the door when he got to it as the little bells on the inside jingled. He stepped in and saw that there was a line, the place was busier then it usually was when he was around. Still, it was much better then going back to his apartment, at least he wouldn't pass out at Fauna's due to heat. Elliot stood in line while looking at the menu that was posted up behind the counter, despite the fact that he had already known what he was going to get before he had even walked in to the establishment.

they know you're lonely, and they will only break your heartAND THIS MASTERPIECE WILL TEAR YOU APART Spring time was always the most stressful season for work. Mainly due to the fact that flowers were in bloom and Valentine’s Day was just around the corner. Everyone was coming to Demeter’s Garden, ordering multiple flower arrangements for that special someone. And, to be honest, it sickened Persephone. She hated how stupid people got when they were “in love”. Plus, how did giving somebody a bouquet of colorful plants show that you cared for them? It was pointless. Valentine’s Day period was pointless. If she could, she would slap the next person who ordered a dozen roses right across the face. But, she couldn’t. She would most likely end up fired or get hit with a law suit. Which would be bad either way. She needed the job. And, even though her sister owned the shop, she knew that Demeter wouldn’t be too happy that she hit a customer. Especially if it landed her with a law suit. Sighing, she walked over to the cash register and rung up yet another customer. She even managed to hide her look of disgust when the same customer passionately kissed the girl he was with. She was very tempted to tell the couple to get a room, or give them a whole spiel about how love was some stupid emotion people made up to make you think that you had to get married and settle down. And, how marriage usually ended badly. And how they could just look at her sister and see where it ended her. She was twenty-eight, married at eighteen, pregnant with her fifth kid, and her husband treated her like crap. But, being the mature woman she was, she bit her lip and kept quiet. For about the next hour, the same process continued. People ordered flowers; Persephone made them their arrangement and had to resist the urge to tell them how stupid they were to be in love. It finally got to the point where she couldn’t take it anymore. She had to get out of the store. "Dem!"
she called out, grabbing her coat and purse from the rack by the door, "I'm taking my lunch break. I'm be back in an hour or two." And, with that, hurried out the door; she didn’t even stay to see if her sister had said it was okay. Stepping outside, she was glad that she had grabbed a jacket. It was pretty chilly out and she was wearing only a dress. But she loved the cold weather. Plus, being outside was much better then being in that store with the numerous lovebirds. Humming, Persephone walked down the sidewalk, not sure where she was going. To be honest, she wasn’t even hungry. She was just wanted as far away from the flower shop as possible. After about ten minutes of walking, she finally decided to stop at a small café a few blocks down the street from her sister’s shop. She could at least go for a coffee. And, even though she hadn’t been there in a while, she remembered that Fauna’s café was fairly cheap. And she could probably buy an espresso for under there dollars; seeing as though that’s all she had. When she opened the door, she heard the faintly familiar jingling of bells, and, to her disappointment, she noticed that line that had been formed to order. True, she still had a good amount of time before he had to be back at work. But, she didn’t feel like waiting in line. After a moment of contemplating on whether to go back to the shop or not, she decided to just go ahead and order. Grabbing a menu, she stepped into the line, praying she had enough for a coffee. tagg; mr. elliot! word count: 624! lyric credit: masterpiece theater ii - marianas trench! outfit: click!notes: it wasn't rubbish! and sorry it took me awhile to reply! credit: BABY DARLING ! @ CAUTION 2.0[/blockquote]
