[/blockquote][/blockquote]Juliette was glad to finally be off her feet. She had just gotten off a nine hour shift at the hospital; though it was rewarding it took its toll. Once she had changed out of her scrubs, Juliette had touched up her make-up and let her curls fall down her shoulders before she stepped out into the sunset. She pulled her sweater around her as she moved to her car, waving at the security guard as she got out of the parking lot and into the street. Everyone was just getting out of work, but Juliette was going from one job to another.
Once a week after work she went to the library to spend until closing doing various research. Her father…was in jail. Her mother…was dead. Juliette….should be dead. Juliette now spent her life coping and figuring out ways to make sure her father stayed behind bars. It was her secret she kept while walking around this new town. She wanted no one to know about her dark past-had even gone as far as to change her name before she moved down her. Anything she could do to keep her clean slate was what she wanted.
So as she pulled into the library, she grabbed her bag from the passenger seat and slid out into the cool Georgia air. Te library should be open for another two hours which gave her plenty of time for what she was researching today: estate law. Currently her family’s estate was in limbo; it couldn’t be sold but she couldn’t inherit it until things with the court were settled. Juliette lawyer told her to educate herself because it would help her immensely. Juliette simply wanted a few of her family heirlooms and some of her mother’s things. Everything else was to be sold and the house…she wasn’t sure yet. Once things were settled maybe she would know what to do.
As soon as she entered the library, she knew where to go. Juliette walked straight into the non-fiction, research section where she knew the law books were stashed. This town didn’t have much, but the librarian was friendly and if Juliette needed anything, she helped her out. Today, everything she needed was in one real estate book. She was glad as she ladened her arms with that one and another about having state of attorney signed from her father over to her. There was no will left form her mother’s death so it just made everything harder for the 21 year old girl who simply wanted to start over.
