Everyone's gathered around the tree. There are various vendors on the sidewalk calling out their warm baked goods and hot chocolate to help and warm up the many citizens.
This is the group thread. Anyone can join in this thread no matter what. Try to read all of the posts before joining in so you know exactly what's going on in if you choose to join in. You can make your own closed threads for this event as well in this board.

It was a cold day in December. The wind blew bitterly and made everyones' hands sting for five minutes after they went inside if they were stupid enough to not wear gloves, which Kelly often was. Today happened to be one of the days where she had remembered. She was completely bundled up in jeans, a sweater, a wool coat, a scarf, some mittens, and boots. Okay, not completely bundled up because she'd skipped on the hat, but her long hair usually did the trick anyway. She still shivered as she got out of the house and got into her car.
A few minutes later, Kelly stopped, parked, and got out. It was still freezing. No snow yet though. That's what Kelly was hoping for. She looked up at the sky hopefully. Looked like it might be a possibility. Might. Ah well. Kelly walked over to where there was a huge Christmas tree. It was beautiful. Kelly had gone every year and it was one of her favorite things about the holidays. She smiled, remembering every year being here from when she was twelve, when she'd moved from New York City. She'd thought she was so grown up back then. Ha! Kelly knew she was much more mature than she was back then, and she really didn't see herself as grown up at all. Funny how that was.
Kelly looked around. Was there anyone around that Kelly knew? She tended to go places by herself, but she really would like to be here with friends. That was part of the fun of being here! She shivered. Looks like she was one of the first ones here. No worries then. Her friends would come soon enough.

OutfitSophie headed along the road to the tree lighting ceremony, she loved the lights at christmas. So much effort was put into them and they looked magnificent. She sighed lightly hoping Tristan would appear, she hadn't seen him since the beach and he was really the only one she knew. It was due to snow and Sophie could feel the prayers coming from the children for that snow fall, Sophie hoped it would snow too, it made the magic of christmas come alive but in Georgia she was guarenteed a white christmas. Sophie stopped and waited for a few cars to pass before she proceeded to cross the road. Tree lighting was something she had enjoyed as a child, she grew up in New York and moved to Georgia, she was exstatic that they did the ceremony here too. Stupidly Sophie hadnt worn gloves or a hat but she had her scarf, she would just have to make do. A few kids darted past their giggles echoing in the air, it brought a bright smile to her face. A child approached her with a bucket of candy canes. Sophie smiled politely and took out her purse "You're doing a fantastic job!" She grinned giving the child some money then taking her candy cane. The child ran off to sell some more as Sophie watched. Sophie threaded through the crowd, she couldnt see Tristan but there were plenty people here, she would have to just make friends. Everyone has to have a new start somewhere. For her this was it. She headed over to the hot chocolate stand and paid for her hot chocolate before taking a seat on a bench watching everyone passing by. Words?!: 302
