Her childish nature came out way worse when her family was around. Normally she wasn't quite so whiny about things, but having James around brought her back to when she used to bug her parents for things that she wanted, that she easily got handed when she pulled out her pathetic bottom lip and sad eyes. It didn't work with Moira, which was probably a good thing in the long run but it was frustrating at the moment. Emma did light up a bit though when Moira was verbally lashing James, it was nice to see it aimed at someone else and not herself. She couldn't help but laugh, though she did try and keep it quiet in order not to draw any more attention to herself at the moment. It was funny, only moments ago she had been wanting the spotlight, now James could gladly have it. Emma didn't want Moira to turn on her further, even though she probably deserved it. It didn't work though, because soon Moira was ready to take back the shoes, and then take away her card later on. "Fine..." Emma muttered, because at this point she knew arguing was futile. The blonde haired woman did feel bad about the way her brother and roommate met though, she would have to make it up to Moira later.
Emma was torn, the majority of her wanted to run after Moira and either try to talk sense into her or have her help find a different pair of shoes that she could afford...but she couldn't just leave James alone in the apartment. It didn't go well the first time, clearly. All Emma needed was to be gone with Moira when their other friend came home and have the whole ordeal happen a second time--it would be especially bad for it all to happen in one day. The door clicked and James spoke to her. She turned her attention to him and stood to her feet. "Yes, that's Moira," Emma confirmed. "You really must of upset her, she certainly didn't look happy when I got home and it wasn't all just because I didn't let her know you were stopping here ahead of time. What did you do to her?" she questioned curiously. Sure Moira was feisty, but she didn't get that way toward people without good reason, even Emma knew that. James really must have rubbed her the wrong way, though she couldn't say she was all too surprised. "If we're going out, you're paying, Moira is already going to have my head later and I don't have money from the parents anymore and my job only pays so much. Most of it goes to rent and expenses here," Emma said. "So, it's up to you," she added. Although sitting around at the apartment wasn't her idea of fun, she had already upset Moira and she wasn't about to poke her anymore for the day. She also wasn't going to demand James to pay for anything he didn't want to, and so she left the choice up to him.
NOTES: Sorry again about the lengthy time period between posts, Emma is a fussy muse to work with.
